Are you still thinking a NGO Website is not required??

NGO Website

Shocking but true! there are still many NGOs who think that a NGO Website is not compulsory. In the beginning, when was educating NGOs to get a website, quite a number of NGOs were reluctant to develop a website for their NGO. That was way back in 2001. But even today, in 2016 also, we sometimes meet NGOs who only want to go for a website for their NGO because the funding partner (either Government or Others) makes website as requirement for their project proposal.

The best thing you can do for NGO is to get a good Website for it!

For such NGOs, we would like to make an appeal that please understand that having a Good NGO Website, will open up Global Opportunities for your NGO.

NGOs in India do get good response on their NGO Websites!

To get an idea about how a Good Website for your NGO can help you, pls check the videos of some of our NGO Clients, who are getting a great response on their NGO Website:

Many NGOs neglect to update their Websites regularly

After getting their Websites done, many NGOs neglect to keep the website updated. This could for many reasons:

  • probably because of the cost involved in getting the website updated, whether inhouse by appointing a technical proficient staff and paying regular salary OR by giving to an outside web design company to update the website, which again involves cost.
  • one of the main reason NGOs do not update the website is that do not have a CONTENT person to regularly write the NGO news & updates

Active Website = Active NGO !

But NGOs need to realise that more and more people are now taking the information given on their websites seriously. Donors and Funding Agencies  are checking the NGO Websites to see the whether the NGO is ACTIVE and regularly updating the website or not. If the content, photos, videos, address, phone numbers, project information is many years old, it gives an impression that your NGO is not active from so many years!

CMS Website – A Great Solution

One of the best solutions to solve all these problems is to get a CMS website for your NGO. CMS stands for Content Management System which means that in this type of website you can easily MANAGE all your NGO Website Content like -text, photos, videos, pages etc., very easily.

Not all CMS are the same

One of the most popular CMS used is WordPress. Which is quite an easy way to regularly manage your NGO. But for complete newbies or those with limited technical knowledge, using even WordPress seems quite a challenge, as you need to learn to the different options in the dashboard. But there are some very easy ‘click and edit’ CMS options which may not have the huge number of themes and plugins as WordPress but quite advanced features which are quite easy to use.

I will write about this CMS options in my next post. Till then have a great day.
